Who Are You??
I am an artist. There. I’ve said it out loud. That was scary. But, if I don’t say it, and more importantly, if I don’t live it, I just might go insane…
If you're here, you feel the same.
“What are you going to do with that?”
“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
“That’s a nice hobby.”
If those sound familiar to you, just know that I’m with you. How do you even answer these questions? If you’re like me, giving the answer of “I want to…” (insert whatever keeps you from sane) doesn’t usually satisfy the majority. Apparently writing, painting, acting, etc. isn’t a good answer.
I think it’s interesting that most people won’t encourage their children to be the artists of tomorrow because “how will you feed yourself?” But art, in all of its beautiful forms, is what keeps the human spirit alive. And we need that more than ever right now. So, here I am, a menace to society. I am not going to have a “real job” and I’m going to be who I am. An artist.
Hopefully, you’ll find the courage to be one with me.
